Now that school is back in session, are the best deals for back to school items yet to be had? Like after Christmas sales, there is sure to be sales on clothing and notebooks, right? I am yet to find that clothing prices are being reduced. I guess that may be due to school starting in the middle of the week and stores feel that they will still have a chance for some late shopping this weekend.
I have not had to really buy anything because my daughter is not old enough for school yet, she is only two. But I always keep an eye on prices so that I can make sure that I know what is happening in the retail business.
What has been some of your ways of saving money when it chimes to back to school shopping? We would like to hear!

It was tax free shopping weekend in North Carolina. Shoppers were out in droves to buy back to school supplies and computers. There was a line twenty people long at the Durham Apple store. Most people were buying Macbooks, but some were seen buying iMacs as well.
At the department stores, it was like a scavenger hunt to find clothing sizes. The racks were such a tease, I would find an article of clothing that we would like and they would not have the right size. There were many items misplaced and merchandise on the floors. Most people were still calm and courteous, which was nice.
It was hard to find a short line at the check out counters and forget about finding a close parking spot. It was like people forgot about the recession for the weekend, but the economy will still be sluggish for a while. At least maneuvering the aisles of the stores were not so bad, most shoppers were digging through the racks. The sales bins were popular as well. I guess this was a small taste of what the holiday shopping season will be like, which I am not looking forward to either.
If you took advantage of any sales in NC, or anywhere else, we would like to hear about it in the comments.

Summer is almost over, which means that there are deals to be had. We have already seen stores marking down seasonal items. Do not forget to go to the clearance areas of online stores as well as brick and mortar stores like Target and Kmart. This is a good time to pay low prices on items that were full price a few moths ago.
Buy sandals for next year, buy gift items early and better yet, buy something for yourself! Shopbluenow has a sale going on now as well. All purse hangers are on sale as well as many other items!
Enter our contest! We are giving away a purse hanger on 8/8/2010! Click here to enter!

Most of us are still recovering from the Holiday hustle and bustle of December 2009. However, it is the perfect time to start your holiday shopping for Christmas 2010!!!
Take advantage of the clearance sales that the stores are offering on their winter merchandise. I got some great deals on children’s clothing for my daughter’s Winter wardrobe next year at our local outlet center. You can’t beat new, cute clothes for less than $2. If you typically give a sweater to your Aunt Joan, you can buy it now for less than half of what you will pay shopping last minute. Let’s face reality, Aunt Joan doesn’t care about the trendy sweaters, she loves the ones with Santa and a penguin on it and the styles on those types of items don’t change from year to year.
I also stopped into Bath and Body Works today. Their big lotion bottles are on sale for less than the holiday specials. Lotion is one of my favorite holiday gifts. It’s something that I don’t spurge on for myself, but I enjoy it each time I use it. I think I’m like a lot of frugal moms out there. We enjoy fancy things, but unfortunately, our extra money goes towards things for our children, not ourselves. Lotion is easy to store, doesn’t spoil and is the perfect gift for women of all ages and preferences.
I could go on and on, but I know most of us realize that we “could” do our Christmas shopping now, but we just don’t for some reason. Here’s your reminder! If you buy just a few gifts this month, you can save yourself money, stress and time when it matters most!

We want to take the time to thank all of our customers for a great holiday season! By far, our best sellers were purse hangers. Why not? They make great gift items. Most customers bought more than one, in fact, the average was five. We also sold some jewelry, pill boxes and Zoobies.
Please add some comments about your shopping experience for the 2009 holiday season!
